Yield: about 1/2 cup
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tsp (7 g) bacon lard
- 1 garlic clove, pressed
- 4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp red pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup (58 g) ketchup
- 1 1/2 tbsp molasses - weigh!!
- 1 tbsp (23 g) honey
- 1 tbsp (14 g) brown sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp apple cider
- 1 tbsp apple juice
- 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp (12 g) Dijion mustard
- 1/2 cube beef bouillon
- Liquid smoke - start with a drop
Directions
- Add bacon lard to a small deep pot and heat just until the lard melts. Swirl the lard around to coat the surface of pot. Add garlic and turn down the heat to low and simmer the garlic for several minutes - do not brown the garlic.
- Add onion powder, cayenne pepper and red pepper powder and stir for 1 minute.
- Stir-in all the rest of ingredients and bring to boil. Turn off the heat and let it cool down.
